When we think about our achievements we generally focus on major events, things like graduating from college or getting the job we really wanted. However, when it comes to real life, it is often the smaller achievements that can provide the frosting on the cake. As I looked through some prior e-mails I have sent out, I realized that I have cause for a special celebration of my own. Last year I told you about a decades-long habit that I finally managed to break and now it is time for my one year anniversary. As the best way to celebrate comes by sharing the joy, we decided to repeat the deep discount special offer on one of our most popular products, Eliminating Self-Sabotage. No matter what it is that you are trying to achieve, this one product will help you realize success. This is my success story!
An Uncovering
Here is proof that self-improvement is a journey not a destination. After being totally immersed in the self-help arena for over 25 years, I recently had another uncovering!
When I first met Eldon, I considered myself to be pretty practical and down to earth. I accepted who I was, knew my faults and shortcomings but overall I was happy just being me. Eldon however saw through this right away and shortly after we first met, he sent me a gift of Soaring Self Esteem and told me that I should stop putting myself down. I have to admit, I laughed when I opened this package—I really thought that Eldon was joking. However, trusting this new relationship that I felt developing between the two of us, I put the Esteem program in my player and had it on auto-repeat all evening. By the time Eldon called me that evening to say goodnight, I had worked myself up into a real state. Of course, at the time I didn’t realize that the positive esteem affirmations were in direct confrontation with the defense mechanisms I had erected over years to protect myself from my own feeling of inadequacies—instead, I believed that the music on this particular program was the worst ever, in fact I believed it was an offense against humanity itself! You wouldn’t believe how vocal I was at describing this monstrous piece of music Eldon had chosen to put on a program designed to help you appreciate yourself.
Not long after this, I happened to listen to another of Eldon’s InnerTalk programs, and this time I found the music to be purely divine. The music was so smooth and melodic that it seemed to call to my very soul, inspiring me to reach for ever-greater heights. Imagine my shock when Eldon told me that this was the very same music on the Esteem program that I had complained about so vociferously. The music was by Emmy award winning musician Jim Oliver and since then I have not heard a single piece of Jim’s music that has failed to take me to soaring heights!
Overcoming Resistance
By this time, I was ready to listen to Eldon’s explanation of how it was not the music that had upset me when I first listened to the esteem program, but rather it was the specific set of affirmations that were directly challenging my inner beliefs—beliefs that I had carefully constructed supposedly to protect myself from feelings of inadequacy but which had become my own personal prison, holding me back from making any real achievements!
Since working with the Esteem program all those many years ago, my life has changed immensely. From assisting in Eldon’s business with all the bottom rung tasks (packaging products, cleaning etc.), I have worked my way all the way up to running the marketing department, from simply laying out the page designs for each new book, I now do a great deal of the heavy duty editing, research and fact checking, and my biggest achievement of all, from making sure I kept myself well in the background, I now contribute regularly to Eldon’s Provocative Enlightenment Radio show. For someone who was positively phobic about public speaking, this is a heck of an achievement.
My Bad Habit
So here I am—after 25 years of working at self-improvement, looking back at all that I have achieved, feeling like I had actually made-it, when I remembered an ugly habit of mine. I do not bite my fingernails, but for the last few decades, I have chewed the skin around them. I know, I know, it’s a pretty disgusting habit and one that I had looked at fleetingly over the years but been totally unable to eradicate. I had tried the Stop Nail Biting program because it includes affirmations such as:
“I care for my hands. I care for my fingers. I care for my nails. I present myself well. I look great. I like looking great. My hands look great. I am aware of my hands. I am aware of my fingers,” etc.
Plus, we have some great testimonials for it:
“I would like to thank you for all your work. I have been using your programs for some time. I have lost 35lbs and continue to lose, and I have stopped biting my nails after 35yrs.”
~ Nicholas C
“This subconscious stuff is very powerful. The Stop Nail-Biting program made me go too far the other way and I began to buy nail polish and fake nails!”

I Do Deserve!
However, in my instance I didn’t get the success I was looking for. I was pretty certain this was due to the fact that my disgusting habit was not just a left over habit that I just needed to reprogram myself out of, but rather that there was an underlying cause that needed to be dealt with first. So I went back to the drawing board. This was certainly some kind of self-destructive behavior, resulting from feelings of insecurity and inadequacy. There also had to be some anger against myself, combined with a feeling that I just did not deserve. These are all elements that are addressed in our Eliminating Self-Sabotage album so that was what I went to work on. Focusing on my finger-chewing habit I looked deeply into these feelings of not being worthy and suddenly it hit me. While I have overcome so much when it comes to poor self esteem, I realized that there was a part of me that still felt I did not deserve, that something would happen to take away my happiness and put me back into the place some small part of me felt that I never deserved to leave. Basically I felt unworthy of the great love that I share with Eldon! Silly I know! In fact, really very stupid! But oftentimes, these self-revelations are exactly that. I realized that I chewed my fingers as a way to remind myself that I was still just a very normal, ordinary girl who needed to remember that her fairy castle would one day just disappear. Well, exposing these beliefs to the cold light of day totally took away their power. After trying for 25 years to stop chewing on my fingers, over night the habit simply disappeared. Sometimes I can feel like a recovering alcoholic when I count off the weeks since I last indulged in my bad habit—12 weeks and counting!
Self-Sabotage expresses itself in very many different ways but can often be seen in those habits or repeating cycles in our lives that persist in holding us back. I will be discussing this more in the weeks that come, but for now, just try it out for yourself and remember to let me know about your own successes! Act Now: get your copy here.
Eldon has often described the self-help journey as being similar to the layers of an onion—the more layers you peel back the more you find! What layers will you peel back today?
Wishing you Love, Light and Laughter, always!

“In response to my request for assistance in my business and life you said: ‘I would suggest using the program Ending Self Destructive Patterns first. This may assist in uncovering any self sabotaging strategies that hold prosperity from you. Thanks and I wish you only the very best! Eldon.’ Things are working! My seminars are starting to get off the ground and new ideas are germinating. Thank you so much for your program!”
