Earlier, I wrote about why smart people procrastinate and how subconscious resistance often keeps us from doing the very things we know are important.
Today I’d like to share a personal experience that completely changed the way I think about productivity.
For several months, I had one important task sitting at the very top of my to-do list. It was a tax form that needed to be completed and submitted. The job itself wasn’t especially difficult. In fact, it probably wouldn’t have taken more than twenty minutes. Yet week after week, month after month, I found reasons to do something else first. There was always another email to answer, another project that seemed more urgent, another interruption, or simply another excuse.
Looking back, I knew exactly what I should have been doing. I simply wasn’t doing it. Perhaps you’ve had something similar sitting at the top of your own to-do list.
A Small Experiment
When Strategic Planning and Peak Performance was first developed, I decided to try something a little different. Many of my favorite InnerTalk programs leave an impression on my dreams when I play them overnight, and I was curious to discover whether this one would have a similar effect. So I played it while I slept.
The next morning I woke up, put on my dressing gown, walked downstairs, switched on my computer, completed the tax form, and submitted it. The whole process took less than twenty minutes. As I sat back afterwards, I couldn’t help wondering what had changed. The task hadn’t become any easier. It still required the same twenty minutes it always had, and my abilities certainly hadn’t changed overnight. The only thing that had changed was my willingness to stop avoiding it and simply get on with it.
Removing Resistance
That experience taught me something I have never forgotten. Productivity isn’t always about working harder. In many instances, it’s about removing the subconscious resistance that has been quietly standing in your way. When that resistance begins to disappear, you don’t suddenly become a different person. You simply stop arguing with yourself. Instead of spending energy avoiding the task, you begin using that same energy to complete it.
Looking back now, I don’t remember feeling especially motivated that morning. I simply did what needed to be done, and to me, that was one of the biggest lessons of all. Motivation comes and goes. Removing the subconscious resistance that keeps you stuck is far more powerful.
Why It Became One of My Favorites
Ever since that experience, Strategic Planning and Peak Performance has become one of the InnerTalk programs I use most often. Whenever I have an important deadline, a major project, or simply want to make the best possible use of my day, it is still one of the first programs I reach for. That is also why we’re including it free with the Resolution Solutions album during this special promotion.
Resolution Solutions helps remove many of the subconscious patterns that block progress in the first place—procrastination, self-destructive thinking, lack of confidence, poor impulse control, unclear goals, and the many other beliefs that quietly sabotage success. Strategic Planning and Peak Performance then helps you build on those changes by keeping your attention focused on what matters most.
To me, the Resolution Solutions album and Strategic Planning and Peak Performance complement one another beautifully. The Resolution Solutions album removes the subconscious barriers that have been holding you back, while Strategic Planning and Peak Performance helps you make the most of the new opportunities that begin opening up in front of you.
Success Is Built One Decision at a Time
People often imagine that success comes from dramatic moments. In my experience, it rarely does. It comes from making one good decision after another. Answering the email you’ve been avoiding, making the important phone call, working on your business instead of scrolling through social media, taking the walk, writing the page, completing the form… each decision may seem small on its own, but over weeks, months, and years those small decisions quietly shape the direction of our lives.
Most of us don’t need more ability. We need fewer subconscious reasons for not using the abilities we already have.
It’s Your Time
If you know exactly what you should be doing—but you’re still not doing it—then perhaps it isn’t your determination that needs to change. Perhaps it’s the subconscious beliefs that have been quietly standing in your way.
Please explore the Resolution Solutions album. My hope is that, like it has for me and for so many others over the years, you’ll discover that changing the beliefs which quietly guide your decisions can also begin changing the direction of your life.
Wishing you Love, Light, and Laughter… always!

“I have the Ending Procrastination, and the Prosperity CDs. At first, I didn’t think they were working for me. However, over about a few months, several people mentioned to me that they had seen a change in me. I hadn’t told them I had been playing these CDs. Doing a little introspection myself, I noticed that I don’t put things off any more. It gives me a good feeling in getting things done.”
