Unexpected Benefits of Becoming Fit and Healthy plus Spring Cleaning Means Deep Discounts

Well it looks like winter is beginning to lose it’s grip and I couldn’t be more relieved. This has been one of the coldest, snowiest winters in Spokane in a very long time, which means the roads and walkways have been icy for about the last 4 months. With conditions as slick as that, it has been impossible to really enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise—and being cooped up so long has really made me feel lethargic. So much for all the indoor projects I thought I would tackle!

Renewed Energy

Last week though, Eldon and I went for our first run of the year. If you remember, back in October we reported the successful completion of our first 12K run. Now I knew we would not be able to run anywhere close to the distance after taking 4 months off, but I have to admit I was really surprised at how much we had deteriorated! However, even though our first couple of runs have been very short, I have noticed another benefit after the very first run—and that was a lifting of the lethargy and a burst of inspiration and enthusiasm for taking on new projects. Where I had been unable, all winter, to find the time to tackle those pesky little jobs that are always nagging for attention, now those little jobs are getting handled, and I simply feel healthier and more joyful. Eldon and I have signed up to run in this year’s 12K Bloomsday run on May 7 so we now need to get into some serious training. With all the obvious benefits that come with exercising, and the renewed energy and enthusiasm to take on new projects, this is going to be a fun time for us!
