Eldon and I had a discussion the other day. He believes that InnerTalk is like aspirin in so much as its lifetime will not expire because it works! I have certainly heard from many customers how powerful InnerTalk is.
Mind Aspirin
There are in fact a number of InnerTalk programs I have used myself, that have worked very quickly for me. I used the Freedom from Nausea program when I was pregnant with our first son. In that instance, I found that as long as I remained in hearing distance of the CD player, then I would feel fine, but if I went into the other room, my nausea would come back.
I have used the Releasing Anger program and literally felt my anger (over a family situation that I had no control over) simply dissipate. I was left with the same situation but now all of my energy could be spent on finding a solution rather than being wasted on being angry. The other advantage is of course that releasing anger was simply healthier for my body.
More Advantages
I have also used Sleep Soundly at various times in my life and found it very effective. Just playing this program quietly all night long would drastically improve my ability to sleep. I have used this when I had lots on my mind and found myself unable to turn my thoughts off so that I could go to sleep. I also used it when I went through menopause and there were biological reasons for my sleep disturbance. And the huge advantage is that you cannot become dependent on using this program (it actually works to train you in good sleep habits) and it does not cause you to feel groggy in the morning.
I have heard from plenty of people who have used the InnerTalk Freedom from Headaches program and either had their headache just disappear or they were able to significantly reduce the pain meds taken for their very frequent and/or acute headaches. I don’t tend to suffer from headaches much myself, but I do remember putting on the Freedom from Headaches program for a customer once and was surprised to find that my own headache had gone after about half an hour.
Self-Sabotage
So in many ways, Eldon is correct—InnerTalk is like an aspirin for your mind. However, there is something he was missing in this analogy. When you have a pain, it is very obvious. In fact, it does not take much pain to impinge upon your ability to function. Unfortunately, it does not take us long to become very accepting of other limitations in our lives. Why would weight loss be a huge concern when most of the people we know are over weight and perfectly happy being so? Why would someone fully understand why their poor self-esteem is holding them back when they see it as just part of their personality? How can you possibly believe that changing a few beliefs can bring you success, happiness, your soul mate, great exam results, a job etc. when you are already working actively in all of these areas?
The fact is, there is not a single area in our lives where self-sabotage cannot come into play and that is specifically what InnerTalk addresses. You see, self-sabotage can be caused by many things. It can be caused by a belief that you do not deserve anything better. It can be caused by the belief that you should not expect anything better! It can be caused by a lack of self-confidence, or it can be caused because you believe that you are already king/queen of your own castle. Have you reached a plateau in your own personal growth?
Breaking Your Barriers
Richard Bach’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull really expresses it the best. Jonathan was scoffed at for wanting to achieve more than the other seagulls. He was told that there was no way to go any higher. Each time he made a breakthrough, he was met with these same restrictive beliefs from the seagulls in his new circle of friends. But Jonathan was only interested in competing with himself, and the more he tried, the higher he soared, breaking barrier after barrier!
While InnerTalk is often used to ‘fix’ a problem, its greatest benefit is in removing those obstacles that prevent you from soaring as high as you possibly can. Life should not be about comparing yourself with those around you. To live life well, the only person you need to compete with is yourself. Everyone has their own unique talents and dreams they wish to pursue. The secret to your own success comes from changing those beliefs that hold you back, and from recognizing that your life is still only partly lived. Unlike the physical pain that has you reaching for the aspirin, you must first recognize that there are ‘higher places’ to explore and then reach for the most appropriate InnerTalk program to assist you in achieving the goal.
High Is YOUR Up?
As we often say around here, InnerTalk is all about exploring ‘how high is up?’ What do you think? What invisible barrier do you wish to break next? How much more can you achieve in your life?
My hope for you today is that you stop holding yourself back, that you see that you can fly every higher, and that you have the courage to take the next step!
Wishing you Love, Light and Laughter, always!
