Growing up, we didn’t have much money. I watched my father work incredibly hard, often in jobs he disliked, where long hours and little appreciation were simply part of everyday life. Like many entrepreneurs, he tried one business after another. Some failed completely. Others never really got off the ground. There were certainly times when he could have concluded that success simply wasn’t meant for him. But he never did.
Instead, he continued looking for opportunities. No matter how disappointing the latest setback had been, he somehow remained open to the possibility that tomorrow might be different from today. Then one day it was. He recognized the right opportunity, embraced it wholeheartedly, and the business soared. Suddenly we were living a life that would have seemed almost unimaginable only a few years earlier.
Looking back now, I don’t think the greatest gift he gave our family was financial security. It was something far more valuable. He taught us that possibility doesn’t disappear simply because life becomes difficult. Sometimes the opportunity that changes everything is already there—we simply have to become the person who is ready to recognize it.
One Decision Can Change Everything
Years later, I saw the same pattern in Eldon. When he first encountered subliminal technology, his interest was purely professional. He immediately saw its potential for improving lie detection, not for helping people change their lives. When someone suggested using the technology in the self-help field, he hesitated. Did he really have the expertise? Could he make a meaningful contribution? Then a quiet thought came to him. “Why not try at least?”
Neither of us could have imagined where that one decision would eventually lead. Today, InnerTalk has helped hundreds of thousands of people around the world, and it allowed us to build a business devoted to improving lives while providing the security to send both of our boys to private schools and through university.
Again, prosperity didn’t begin with certainty. It began with the willingness to take one small step toward a possibility that couldn’t yet be seen.
The Prosperity We Pass On
As the years have passed, I’ve often wondered what children really inherit from their parents. Certainly they inherit many things beyond our control. But I also believe they inherit something much quieter—the attitudes they witness every day.
Our youngest son once wrote in an essay for university, “I discovered my own ability to succeed through sheer perseverance.” Those words have stayed with me ever since. Today he is doing exceptionally well in his career, and I sometimes wonder whether that quiet confidence grew from watching the people around him refuse to surrender when life became difficult.
More recently, our older son taught me another lesson about prosperity. By most people’s standards he had already succeeded. He was earning an excellent income and building an impressive career. Yet he realized that financial success alone wasn’t filling the deeper prosperity gap inside him. He wanted his work to reflect who he truly was and the difference he hoped to make. So he made a decision that many people would find incredibly difficult. He walked away from the security of a high-paying career, returned to university, and is now about to complete his master’s degree. His goal isn’t simply to earn a living. It’s to build a life where purpose and prosperity walk hand in hand.
I have every confidence he’ll succeed—not because life guarantees success, but because I know the qualities he carries with him. Vision. Courage. Perseverance. A willingness to keep learning. Those qualities have a remarkable way of opening doors.
The Changes That Matter First
Recently, one of our customers shared an experience that beautifully illustrated this same principle.
She had been listening to several InnerTalk programs, including Money Management, Self-Determined and Disciplined, Accelerated Learning, and later Prosperity. What struck me wasn’t that she immediately became wealthier. It was the person she was becoming.
She wrote that she had started following a budget, opened her first savings account, began paying off debt, thought more carefully before making purchases, enjoyed managing her finances, paid closer attention to financial news, and found herself learning naturally and effortlessly. She also discovered herself setting meaningful goals and, perhaps most importantly, taking daily action toward achieving them.
One sentence, in particular, caught my attention. She wrote that, so far, she had noticed only attitudinal changes from listening to Prosperity.
I smiled when I read that because those “only attitudinal changes” are often where lasting prosperity begins. That experience reminded me of something we’ve learned over the years. Real prosperity is never built on just one quality. Confidence, discipline, creativity, recognizing opportunities, wise financial stewardship, perseverance, and vision all reinforce one another. That’s why we designed the Wealth, Money, and Prosperity album as a collection rather than a single program. Individually each program is valuable. Together they create something greater than the sum of their parts.
Prosperity Has Many Faces
In my last newsletter, I shared a thought that has stayed with me: “Don’t surrender more of your potential than life is actually asking you to surrender.”
The more I reflect on prosperity, the more convinced I become that this idea lies at its very heart.
- Sometimes prosperity means finding the courage to begin.
- Sometimes it means finding the perseverance to continue.
- Sometimes it means having the wisdom to change direction.
Prosperity isn’t simply measured by the size of a bank account. It’s measured by the freedom to become who we were capable of becoming—to build meaningful work, support those we love, continue learning, contribute to others, and live with purpose.
Money certainly matters. It provides choices, security, and opportunities that can profoundly enrich our lives. But perhaps its greatest value is that it allows us to express more fully who we are and what we hope to contribute.
The Invisible Shift
One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that prosperity has always looked a little magical from the outside. But from the inside, it’s usually a thousand wiser thoughts, better choices, and courageous moments that quietly accumulated until one day the results became impossible to ignore.
Reading stories like these reminds me why we created the Wealth, Money, and Prosperity album in the first place. We didn’t create it simply to encourage people to earn more money. We created it to strengthen the many inner qualities that support lasting prosperity—confidence, creativity, discipline, visualization, opportunity awareness, wise financial stewardship, and the quiet belief that your future can be richer than your past.
Little by little, we become people who naturally make prosperous decisions. We begin recognizing opportunities we once overlooked. We become better stewards of what we already have. We develop the confidence to pursue meaningful goals and the resilience to keep moving when obstacles appear.
Perhaps that’s how prosperity has always worked. Not as something we chase. But as something we gradually become ready to recognize.
If this message resonates with you, I’d love to invite you to explore our Wealth, Money, and Prosperity album. This carefully designed collection brings together nine complementary programs, each supporting a different aspect of building genuine prosperity. Together they help strengthen qualities such as success consciousness, creativity, wise money management, visualization, abundance thinking, and recognizing opportunities—all the inner changes that so often precede lasting outer results.

“. . . as soon as I found Inner Talk (Millionaire Orbit and Prosperity) I got out of my never ending overdraft, lowered the interest rate on my loan, and shortened the repayment time from 37 to 12 months. (I will be loan free in just a few months – I can’t believe it!) This is only possible because I could pay more towards it, after I managed to raise my income by nearly 51%!”
