I was not aware beforehand, how big an event this would be for me, but now it is certainly in the same category of achievements as your child getting married or having a first baby! I am sure there are lots of parents out there who totally understand where I am coming from.<\/p>\n<p>After 16 years in the educational system, it is very fitting that the event be filled with ceremony, accolades, loud cheers and lots of celebrations. Our son leaves University with double Bachelors in Physics (with a minor in Math) and in Political Science.\u00a0 I am not exactly uneducated myself, but his physics papers and presentations really do leave me awe-struck. How did my little boy with jam all over his face, turn into this highly accomplished young adult? One day he was struggling to learn the alphabet and today his intellect simply blows my mind!<\/p>\n<p>I remember when I first met Eldon and I was talking to him about all of\u00a0<em>his<\/em>\u00a0accomplishments. I asked him how he had managed to achieve so much. His answer:\u00a0<em>&#8220;One step at a time!&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0 I think therein lies the difference between those who succeed big, and those who never get their dreams off the ground. When you start a new idea or project, it can often seem very daunting, especially if the project will take a very long time. Sometimes people are in an all fired hurry, so they take on too much or aim too high at the beginning, and when they are unable to meet their initial goals, they give up on all of them. And then there are others who achieve a modicum of success and then stop even working towards higher goals.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How High is Up?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>For me, self-improvement and personal empowerment is very much an ongoing journey. How many times have I asked you,\u00a0<em>&#8220;How high is up?&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0These days it is very rare for me not to be working on something that makes me feel as though I am growing as a person, and this includes almost always playing an InnerTalk program on my smart-phone, which is clipped to my belt. Yes, there are many things I have achieved, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Curing myself of Rheumatoid Arthritis (using\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/accelerated_healing_and_well_being\" target=\"new\">Accelerated Healing and Well-Being<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Overcome my fear of speaking on the air during Eldon&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.provocativeenlightenment.com\/\" target=\"new\">Provocative Enlightenment<\/a>\u00a0radio show (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/freedom_from_fears\" target=\"new\">Freedom from Fears<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/communicator\" target=\"new\">I am a Communicator<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Learned to believe in myself (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/soaring_self_esteem\" target=\"new\">Soaring Self Esteem<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/healing_from_invalidation\" target=\"new\">Healing from Invalidation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/soaring_self_confidence\" target=\"new\">Soaring Self Confidence<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Stayed young, fit and healthy (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/forever_young\" target=\"new\">Forever Young<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/running\" target=\"new\">\u00a0Running<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/quantum_younging\" target=\"new\">Quantum Younging<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Delayed my need for reading glasses by 15 years (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/keen_vision\" target=\"new\">Keen Vision<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Brought up two amazing sons (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/positive_parenting\" target=\"new\">Positive Parenting<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/successful_children\" target=\"new\">Successful Children<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/successful_children_family_dynamics_dvd\" target=\"new\">Family Dynamics<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Developed my own business skills (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/strategic_planning_and_peak_performance\" target=\"new\">Strategic Planning and Peak Performance<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/creative_thinking\" target=\"new\">Creative Thinking<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Started my own writing with these newsletters and two books I am currently working on (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/creative_writing\" target=\"new\">Creative Writing<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Worked on my own spirituality (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/yoga_meditations\" target=\"new\">Yoga Meditations<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/opening_up_to_a_higher_power\" target=\"new\">Opening Up to a Higher Power<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Created the most amazing relationship with my better half (<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/enhancing_romance_intimacy_and_love\" target=\"new\">Enhancing Romance, Intimacy and Love<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innertalk-store.com\/products\/listening\" target=\"new\">I Listen Intently<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And the list could go on. However, the most important thing to all of this is that I still am not done reaching higher and higher\u2014both personally or professionally. So, right now I can look back at the last 25 years and see how far I have come, but I know this is nothing compared to what I will still manage to do. And the only thing that is necessary is to keep working on something. And I know our son is in the same place. He has graduated from University but he knows his journey is only just starting. He has too much ambition and self-respect to sit back on his laurels. He knows there is more out there for him. How about you? What aspect of self-improvement do you want to tackle next?
