There are numerous get-rich-quick schemes out there and the Law of Attraction teachings have a very faithful following. As such, it’s not surprising that one of the most frequent requests we get at InnerTalk<\/a> is for a program that will bring prosperity. A number of people are surprised when my first question for them is, “What would it take for you to be more prosperous? What kinds of things can you do to bring more prosperity to you?”<\/em> Some people can become pretty adamant, believing that the popularity of the Law of Attraction speaks to its efficacy. As such they can become very insistent that no, they don’t want to work for the money, they want to access the abundance of the universe so that prosperity just comes to them without them having to do anything at all. They are generally very disappointed when I point out to them that it takes more than asking and visualizing to realize prosperity\u2014you also need action!<\/p>\n

Power of Positive Thinking<\/h2>\n

Now, don’t get me wrong. There is a great deal to be said about the power of positive thinking. Optimists will see opportunities and be able to take advantage of them whereas the pessimist will rarely ever see the possibilities in the first place. This can hold in lots of different arenas: in a hospice center, the positive, cheerful personality will experience considerably less pain than the negative, bitter person; the person who is happy with themselves will find it easier to develop personal relationships; and the student who believes they are ‘just not any good’<\/em> at that subject will invariably not perform their best.<\/p>\n

That said, one of my favorite stories is of a colleague I worked with many years ago. One day someone came around selling raffle tickets for some charity or other. Lynne purchased some tickets very reluctantly because she always won these things and found it very embarrassing going up to collect her winnings. I thought this was a very strange attitude to have . . . that was until I accompanied her to collect her winnings! I often think of this story when we I see orders for Eldon’s Lucky<\/a> InnerTalk program.<\/p>\n
