I recently read a research article that demonstrated greater weight loss when people weighed themselves everyday. While this seems obvious to me, apparently it goes against ‘conventional wisdom.’ It seems that previously, the standard recommendation had been to just weigh yourself once a week as this would stop you fretting about the minor (and normal) ups and downs in between.
Minor Changes
As you know, Eldon and I have two sons—one graduated from the University of Washington last summer and the other will be going there this fall. We tend to think that it is girls who get overly concerned about their weight, but I have learned that guys do as well but for different reasons—they want to make sure they are ‘big’ and strong enough! As such, we have some fancy digital bathroom scales that show your weight down to 1/10th of a pound. This can seem very silly, especially when you realize that a glass of water can easily add a pound to your weight. However, there is a lot of value to it, and the concept also holds for all other areas of your self-improvement/personal empowerment goals.
You see, when you weigh yourself everyday, you can easily detect an upward or downwards trend. Plus, you can also remember what you did that day and what you ate. As such, you have instant feedback of what you should be doing more of and what you should be doing less of! When you weigh yourself everyday, it become pretty easy to stop things from getting out of control.
Supporting Your Goals
I actually think it would be nice if there was a bathroom scale for positivity—this would make achieving your goals that much simpler. Of course InnerTalk programs are the perfect way to support your goals as they can work in the background, changing your negative beliefs into positive beliefs that will create success, but they do still take a little thought. First of all you have to remember to use them—to actually press the play button and make sure your player is set for auto-repeat (and have it repeating the one program not everything in your play list!).
Assessing Positivity
However, it is also important to make regular assessments of your progress. Are you making direct progress toward your goal, or would a different InnerTalk program work better? For example, if the Sleep Soundly program is not working quite as well as you would like, perhaps you should reassess the cause of your sleep issues. Maybe it is not just that you are having difficulty winding down at the end of the day—perhaps you are harboring some pent up feelings of anger or fear and this is what is keeping your mind too busy to sleep. Or maybe the Weight Loss program is not working fast enough and so you should add Using Metabolism to Melt Fat Away into your regimen!
Accelerating Your Progress
The next question you may want to ask yourself is, “Is your progress toward your goal going fast enough, or is there more that you should be doing?” We are always being asked for the technology that works the fastest, but what we have found is that it is a combination of technologies that works the best. We have already put together a number of Power Sets that include both a headphone program (OZO or Echo-Tech and complimentary InnerTalk subliminal program), but you are not restricted to these combinations. Just decide for yourself which headphone program you would like (choosing from Power Imaging, Echo-Tech, OZO and Platinum Plus), finding one that complements the InnerTalk subliminal program you are working with. Playing the headphone program once or twice a day (put your headphones on, put your feet up, and close your eyes), and then play the subliminal programs the rest of the day. Perhaps you want to play just one subliminal program all day, or you wish to play several. For myself, I find it easy to play around 4 different programs during the course of the day, playing each for a few hours, and then to play one single subliminal program all night long while I sleep.
However you decide to work with the InnerTalk line of programs, you should also make sure to take a few minutes each day just to assess your progress. Keeping focused on your goals is the best way to achieve them! So what goal do you want to focus on today?
Wishing you Love, Light, and Laughter, always!
